Phalacrocorax et ses confrères m’ont toujours fascinée, il m’arrivait de les croiser si souvent en Arizona, près des plans d’eau. Vivant en bande, l’œil brillant, aux aguets, toujours sur le qui-vive dans l’attente d’une proie. Ils ne semblaient avoir aucune peur des concurrents éventuels pêcheurs où autres.

This moth, the palmivora, native to Argentina attacks only palm trees... French palm trees are dying slowly but surely...

Glue and nests are a mean to fight but no victory yet!

Ce palmivore, un jour importé d'Argentine,  ne s'attaque qu'aux palmiers... les palmiers de France en meurent lentement mais sûrement.

La colle et les filets sont un moyen de s'en protéger mais rien n'est gagné.

Our Lisbon lemon tree is giving us a lot of lemons this year, each year's prodution is different. Notice the bud announcing already next year’s crop!
At out friends’ house their Ponderosa trees are older but still give huge lemons which are beautiful but full of seeds. These trees are purely ornamental.

Other places, other cultures. After having visited Brookville Daily Photo today, these pictures taken a while ago, came back to my mind.

This seagull, a herring gull I think, was trying to have lunch but it was not counting on me being around... I later scooped the fish with my shoe and gave it back to the sea.

In fact this puffer fish -diodon- which is considered as a delicacy in Japan can contain toxins and Florida has a commercial ban on them...
